New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg just can’t leave bad enough alone. Not content to ban large sodas, trans fats, baby formulas and certain pain medications in hospitals, he continues to find ever more items to add to his Banned in New York list. As readers may know, I have lampooned Mayor Bloomberg’s battle against large sodas in the past. Now it’s time once again to look and see what’s next on his hit list – and it’s a really big list.

For your daily dose of reality (make that depression) ...
Government came like a dust storm of fine choking powder, making its way into everything. You could no longer build a shed without a half-dozen permits and inspections. You couldn’t swim without a lifeguard, couldn’t use your canoe without Coast-Guard approved flotation devices and a card saying that you had taken an approved course in how to canoe. Cops proliferated with speed traps. The government began spying on email, requiring licenses and permits for everything, and deciding what could and could not be taught to one’s children, who one had to associate with, and what one could think about what or, more usually, whom.

Obama s doing what he said he would do faced with an obstinate Republican majority in the House and a divided Senate. His arrogant assurance of infallibility is coupled with a will to power so great that opposition is now intolerable. That explains why Mr. Obama is intent, not on finding solutions to America’s manifold problems, but on vilifying Republicans. The Republican Party must be delegitimized so the electorate pulls mostly Democrat levers in 2014. Only then will President Obama be fully empowered to do what he came to do – transform the nation to match his vision of social and economic justice.

It's been too long since we've published one of these. It is not indicative of a lack of good quality writing out there, as you'll see when you read these. Frankly, we've been in a bit of a funk here at WWTFT. Character and liberty seem to be under attack from every conceivable quarter. Whether it's Second Amendment Rights, governance by fiat in blatant disregard of the Constitution and ignoring court rulings (recess appointments), elevating homosexuality to the status of race by the President in his disgusting inaugural address, the BSA's rethinking of its longstanding policy against homosexual troop leaders, John Kerry as Secretary of State, Chuck Hegel as Secretary of Defense, the Gabby Gifford sympathy play... the list goes on.
Well, here's hoping you enjoy the links.
