Russia’s Mouthpiece Gloats That Obama is a Weakling, and Russia Can Turn the US Into a Pile of Nuclear Ash

The following a rough transcription and translation of a popular news program in Russia.   I wanted to get this out quickly, so the translation is loose and may have some minor errors, but it’s a reasonable gist of what the man had to say.  It’s not every day that the mouthpiece for Russia boasts about being able to turn the US into a pile of radioactive ash.

Dmitry Kisilev is Putin’s mouthpiece, the new head of Russian government-run and financed media/propaganda arm RIA Novosti.  I’d listened to him before thanks to my Ukranian fried Pavel.  I think his supercilious and arrogant demeanor comes out even if you don’t speak Russian.  The video is not that long, have a listen and see if you agree.

Just prior to being named the new head of state propaganda, Kisilev suggested in an interview, that homosexuals be banned from giving blood or being organ donors, even going so far as to say that if involved in a motor vehicle accident, their hearts should be burned so as to prevent them being used.  Putin must have liked this a lot, as he’d made no secret of his anti-homosexual agenda.

Here’s my rough translation:

…. earlier American said they would try to freeze preparations for meetings with the big 8 in Sochi which were planned for June, suggesting a boycott of Russia and shutting them out of the talks. But if this was really what was wanted, why did Obama keep calling Putin so many times. On the first of March they had a 90 minute conversation! On the March 7, he called again. he also called in January and February. Obama just sat and sat. Is it merely a coincidence that even most Americans, according to poll on Friday, think that Putin is a much stronger president? The diagram (on the screen) speaks for itself. And of course, Russia is the only country in the world with the ability to turn the United states into a pile of radioactive ash! I don’t know if it is a coincidence or not, but after Obama called on the 21st of January, probably in an attempt to put pressure on Putin, that the very next day an article was disseminated from the government press organ to newspapers all over Russia, in which Russia’s nuclear capabilities were discussed in detail. The article outlines how we have a perimeter of guaranteed nuclear destruction. In the United States they refer to this as the dead hand, where even if all our command and control center fell under an enemy nuclear attack, our hidden systems would automatically direct our strategic rockets from their silos and submarines. This was detailed in another article from the 21st of January which appeared in all Russian newspapers. Since then Obama has been calling more and more often, is this just coincidental? Obama does not want a confrontation with Russia and seeks to avoid any collision.

Related to this, Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry spent Friday in London meeting about the situation in Ukraine. While Lavrov indicated that the meetings were helpful, he was quick to point out the the situation in Crimea cannot be divorced from history and drew comparisons with the Falkland Islands and Britain among others.

Тем временем, главо нашей дипломаты сергей лавров и джон кери, всю пятницы вели переговоры в Лондоне. по итогом переговоров разногласия серезные сохранились, но встречия по словам Сергия Лаврова было полезные. по крайной мире, на итоге в пресс конференций лавров выразил надежду что западные партнеры рано или поздно поймут в Крым, случая которой не может рассматриваться изолировано от история.
