Jefferson’s Garden

I spent the first half of the day visiting Monticello.  The highlight for me was talking to the folks working on the grounds.  (The 3 ladies I spoke with were all historians in disguise.)  They were super helpful and very nice.  The weather was absolutely wonderful and Pat “the vegetable gardener” was kind enough to consent to being videoed sharing some of her vast knowledge.  (As a videographer, I have have a lot to learn!  Sorry Pat!)  I spoke to her briefly prior to my inside tour of Monticello and then made good on my threat to find her afterwords.  She has a wealth of enthusiasm and knowledge, far in excess of her self proclaimed “vegetable gardener” title.

Pat was loads of fun to talk to. I learned a lot about Jefferson today.

This is on my things to do list. Did you see the water stains around his bed from when he soaked his feet?

John, nope I missed that! I did enjoy seeing how he cut holes in the floor for his clock weights. The Saturday marker is in the basement.
