Enough To Make You Sick

While the president’s wife frets that school lunches are not healthy enough for the nation’s children, neither she nor the president are concerned about a much more serious threat to the health of the nation’s children and, for that matter, adults, as well.

Although it took quite awhile before the MSM covered the story, by now most people are aware that unaccompanied minors (and some with mothers) from Central America are flooding our southern borders. Not widely reported is that they carry a variety of contagious diseases – chicken pox, scabies, strep throat, staph infections and viruses among them. Not to mention infestations of lice in hair and clothing. How many are afflicted is not divulged. In fact, the Obama administration is trying to conceal the problem entirely.

On July 2 Fox News reporter Todd Starnes wrote:

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lockland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.

In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

Meanwhile, the illegals are dispersed across the nation aboard domestic charter buses and airplanes. Whether disease checks are carried out prior to departure, and precautions taken, isn’t known either. But according to ABC News 15, Border Patrol agents are experiencing outbreaks of infectious diseases carried by the illegal migrants.

The numbers indicate that President Obama’s 2012 ad hoc edict delaying deportation of minors more or less indefinitely is responsible for the increase in Central American minors. See Kids in Cages (Fundamentally Transforming America) for the numbers before and after 2012.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson evaded answering questions as to whether the thousands of Central American children who have entered the U.S. Illegally will be deported to their native country, or be allowed to stay. He had reason to be evasive.

Most recently a leaked DHS report revealed that, contrary to administration assertions, only 0.1 percent of Central American minors illegally in the U.S. were deported in Fiscal Year 2013. The report also says that U.S. failure to immediately repatriate the minors is helping to drive the influx.

Baring any change in Obama administration policy, Americans are going to pay all costs associated with the Central American invasion indefinitely. That’s a serious long-term threat to the nation’s economic health. But the danger to the personal health of Americans and their children is immediate.

The president has called the boarder influx “a humanitarian crisis’ and so it is. Sick children, far from home, is the stuff of nightmares. But compassion, regardless of how sincerely felt, carries a price tag and in this case serious consequences as well.

Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet, a nationally known physician, posted the following questions:

Why is the CDC, the U.S. agency responsible for identification, tracking and overseeing issues around infectious disease outbreaks, so strangely silent?

·Why did the Border Patrol Union post a notice on June 29 in Local 1613 News with a list of precautions agents should take, but no such warning has been issued by CDC to the public in affected communities?

What diseases are actually being identified, but not reported to the public?

Why are there reports of a temporary decontamination center set up in El Paso, Texas, similar to those in use in West Africa? What is it for? What diseases have been found that would require such a facility?

Why are Border Patrol agents – charged with protecting the homeland from incursions such as this – now prohibited from speaking out, often with threats of criminal prosecution?

Why is the CDC not on top of – and warning – the public of these increasingly serious situations?

What steps are being taken to isolate and quarantine infected individuals, or to prepare communities for a spike in serious illnesses?

Why are more doctors in the southern border states not already on alert to handle sudden increase in TB, adult chicken pox, measles, H1N1 influenza, dengue, Ebola, plus other unknown but lethal diseases?

The CDC has issued no precautionary advice. For example, should parents in AZ, and other states where the minors are in residence, be advised to keep their children out of public pools? And what happens when school starts again? Does every school have a nurse on site? Have they been alerted to conditions they may not have seen before?

Of course, the president and his wife don’t have to worry about daughters Malia and Sasha swimming in public pools. And it’s unlikely that illegal minors can afford the elite private school the girls attend.

While our porous borders are awash in illegal migrants the occupant of the White House continues to beat the drums for immigration reform – by which he intends amnesty. Given the president’s record of enforcing only the laws he likes, it is unlikely that border security, even if part of his “reform,” will ever be pursued by this administration.

So is it strategy or incompetence that drives Obama’s immigration policy?

Ben Shapiro at Breitbart.com may have an answer. Read it in its entirety at breitbart.com

Adding millions of illegal immigrants to the public rolls – which will happen in terms of lower education and healthcare by necessity – will skyrocket spending. Which is the plan…

But Shapiro points out:

The motivating factor of the left is not caring for the poor but tearing down the wealthy. The philosophy embodied by Barack Obama’s response to a moderator question in 2008: “I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness.”

Fairness. Not prosperity. Fairness.

And so the Democrats will move to bankrupt the system. No welfare state can survive with open borders. That is a truism. And yet that’s exactly what Democrats are now promoting: open borders with a full welfare state. Why? Not because Democrats believe that the homegrown poor in America will be better off with more people joining them on the dole; they won’t. Rather, Democrats love the size and scope of the state and despise the rival the state faces in individual success. A growing welfare base requires higher taxation, more degradation of individual success. That is the goal.

Of course, there is always the possibility that this blogger and the sources cited are unnecessarily alarmist. So the only question for readers then is whether they are willing to bet their health and that of the people they love on that being the case.

What are conservative and Republican politicians doing to combat this? Nothing! The muslim maggot wants $3.7 billion more. They should say, “Hell no!!!” They should cut off funding to the white house!

I ahre your frustration, Jeff. Blame the media. The dimensions of the problem are being kept from the public. If this were a Republican administration
it would be front page news and Obama would be toast.
